Robert Dick (born January 4, 1950) is an American flutist and composer specializing in new music and extended techniques. He was a member of the experimental woodwind trio New Winds with Ned Rothenberg and J. D. Parran.
He holds a B.A. from Yale University and an M.M. in composition from the Yale University School of Music, where he studied with Robert Morris, Jacob Druckman, and Bülent Arel.
Dick lived in Switzerland for ten years, but now lives in New York City. He teaches at New York University. He has performed with Paul Giger, Steve Gorn, Jaron Lanier, and Mark Dresser. He has recorded with Tomoko Sugawara on an Independent Music Award-nominated album, ''Along the Silk Road''.
His 1994 album ''Third Stone from the Sun'' (New World Records), a tribute to guitarist Jimi Hendrix, was named part of the suggested "Core Collection" by the editors of the ''Penguin Guide to Jazz''
